Where is Fifi?

It is now over a month since Fifi disappeared and over 15 days since we last saw him in a cage at the APAR centre in Moncarapacho.

Since then, we have filed a complaint with the GNR, consulted solicitadores (lawyers) and decided to hire a lawyer to ensure that Fifi is returned to us.

But the question now is: where is Fifi?

On the morning of 15 February, we went to the refuge, accompanied by a GNR brigade, to try to recover him. He was no longer there.
Neither were the people in charge of the shelter.
The volunteers, who give one morning a week to look after suffering dogs, did not know Fifi despite the photos we circulated.
The volunteers we spoke to seemed shocked by our story, repeating with incredulity that there must have been a misunderstanding on the part of the managers. After having noted with the police that Fifi had disappeared, we left the volunteers to their questions. Taking ours with us... one above all... haunting...

Where is Fifi?
APAR officials gave many contradictory answers to this question.
Depending on who they spoke to, their version of events often changed.
To us, they said that Fifi had been adopted by a loving, high-walled family who refused to return him because of the many expenses incurred.
Some were told that Fifi had been reunited with his rightful owner thanks to a miraculous chip found under his armpit.
Others were told that Fifi had been adopted and was now abroad and that we would never find him.

APAR’s managers told us that they were entitled not to give Fifi back to us when we came to pick him up. The absence of a microchip, which is compulsory, was used as proof that we were not his masters, when the facts proved the opposite.

Today they are trying to oppose us with a situation of facts not to give him back to us, that he is already gone and perhaps far away.

We oppose them with the law.
Before 15 days in their shelter, APAR did not have the right to give Fifi up for adoption.
This adoption is therefore void.
